About Us

Tashi Waldorf School, established in 2000 AD, is dedicated to providing a holistic, inclusive, and child centered education rooted in Waldorf pedagogy. Tashi — meaning “everything that is good” — reflects our commitment to nurturing each child’s head, heart, and hands in a warm, supportive, and joyful environment. We believe in cultivating a lifelong love of learning, creativity, resilience, and compassionate engagement with the world. Our curriculum blends academics, arts, movement, and practical life skills in culturally meaningful and developmentally appropriate ways. At Tashi Waldorf School, we welcome children from all backgrounds, celebrating diversity, respect, confidence, and a strong connection to community and nature. We also provide care, nourishment, and encouragement so every child can blossom to their fullest potential.

Our History

Tashi Waldorf School opened its doors in 2000 AD, beginning with just 13 students and two teachers in a converted carpet factory on the northern outskirts of Kathmandu. The school was founded to bring Waldorf education — an approach that nurtures the head, heart, and hands of a child — to Nepal, integrating academics with creative, cultural, and practical learning experiences.

Over the years, the school has grown and moved closer to the city, expanding its campus and programs. Today, Tashi Waldorf School offers Nursery through Grade 5 education and continues to cultivate a nurturing, inspiring environment where children learn with joy, curiosity, and confidence
