Grade 2

Grade 2 Curriculum (Ages 7–8)

In Grade 2, children continue to grow in imagination, creativity, and academic skills, building on the strong foundation of Grade 1. Learning is alive, meaningful, and connected to the child’s world, combining stories, hands-on experiences, and rhythm.

In Grade 2, children:

Advance in Reading & Writing:
Stories, poems, and creative writing expand vocabulary and fluency. Writing is purposeful, imaginative, and joyful.

Develop Arithmetic Skills:
Addition, subtraction, and early multiplication are explored through hands-on activities, number stories, and real-life examples.

Engage in Arts & Handwork:
Painting, drawing, modeling, music, and handwork strengthen creativity, focus, and fine motor skills.

Connect with Nature:
Outdoor exploration, gardening, and seasonal projects foster curiosity, observation, and respect for the environment.

Grow Socially & Emotionally:
Cooperative games, circle time, and class projects nurture empathy, teamwork, and confidence.

Practice Practical Skills:
Handwork like knitting, sewing, and other creative crafts continue to develop patience, coordination, and a sense of accomplishment.

Grade 2 integrates academic learning with imagination, rhythm, and experience, helping children develop not only literacy and numeracy but also creativity, curiosity, and a love of learning that will guide them throughout their education.
