Grade 4

Grade 4 Curriculum (Ages 9–10)

In Grade 4, children continue to develop independence, critical thinking, and practical skills. Learning becomes more structured, yet remains alive, imaginative, and hands-on, connecting academic subjects with real-world experiences.

In Grade 4, students:

Language Arts & Literature:
Reading comprehension deepens, and writing includes stories, reports, and creative essays. Grammar, spelling, and vocabulary are introduced in context, often connected to storytelling and class projects.

Mathematics:
Fractions, multiplication, division, measurement, geometry, and problem-solving are explored through hands-on activities and practical applications, helping children understand math in everyday life.

History & Geography:
Children study their local region, world cultures, and historical narratives, connecting social studies with stories, maps, and hands-on projects.

Science & Nature:
Observing plants, animals, weather, and ecosystems encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and respect for the environment.

Arts & Handwork:
Painting, drawing, and modeling continue to develop creativity and fine motor skills.
Handwork becomes more advanced, including knitting, sewing, weaving, and seasonal craft projects, fostering patience, focus, and practical skills.

Music & Movement:
Singing, instruments, and rhythmic movement remain part of daily life, enhancing coordination, memory, and joy in learning.

Social & Emotional Growth:
Group projects, class responsibilities, and circle activities strengthen empathy, cooperation, leadership, and self-confidence.

Grade 4 integrates imagination, practical work, and academic learning, allowing children to connect knowledge with real-life experiences. The curriculum continues to nurture creativity, critical thinking, social-emotional growth, and a love of learning.
